Pure Overclock Two For One
AMD A10-6800K CPU

“Over the last few years, we have seen AMD improve its platform with the release of its “Trinity” processing power and the APU series has grown to be a leading performer with this unique platform. The AMD APU series combines the CPU and GPU under one processing unit providing great computing prowess while fitting in consumers’ budgets. AMD has taken the FM2 based socket and its improved “Piledriver” Cores to the next level. With the improved emphasis on performance, we can’t wait to dive in and put this new AMD A-Series A10-6800K to the test.”

SilverStone AR02 Case

“A few weeks ago we took a look at SilverStone’s AR01 CPU cooler from their new Argon series of coolers. We were thoroughly impressed with its price, sound levels and overall performance. The Argon series is comprised of three coolers – the AR01, AR02 and the AR03. Each looks similar at first glance but is geared towards a different end user. The AR02 is the low man on the totem pole in the lineup (as far as size is concerned) but don’t think that makes it unworthy. We’ve got the AR02 to check out, so let’s get to it!”

Enermax Triathlor FC 550W PS

"Enermax is a brand whose strong product is their power supplies, especially when it comes to the high-end spectrum. Their Platimax and MAXREVO units are some of the best out there. But these units are not cheap in terms of cost. Enermax knows not everyone has a ton of cash to throw at a new power supply so they have created the Triathlor series of power supplies. There are actually the Triathlor and Triathlor FC units. The Triathlor units are lower wattage and non-modular and the Triathlor FC units are higher wattage and are modular. Today we are checking out the Triathlor FC 550W unit which is 80PLUS Bronze certified and offers quiet operation."

The History Of The Hard Drive

"In 1953, engineers in IBM’s California-based laboratory invented the very first hard drive. Since that first disk drive, technological advances have been made at an astonishing rate, with data capacity increasing and size and price decreasing exponentially, year on year. 60 years on, the hard drives of today are unrecognizable from the first models, which took up an entire room. Hard drives today are measured in terms of gigabytes and terabytes, rather than megabytes-an amount of data that would have been almost unimaginable in the early history of computers. Here we take a look back at the evolution of the hard drive as it grew from 5MB to 4TB."

Lian Li PC-Q12 M-ITX Case

"Building a small yet powerful PC has never been easier, thanks to the increasing popularity of feature-packed mini-ITX motherboards. They've never been more attractive, either, as Lian Li's PC-Q12 mini-ITX proves. So, let's dig in and see if the chassis' features are as attractive as its aesthetics."

Metro Last Light PC

"Metro: Last Light is an interesting game. It’s not directly tied to the book series like the original was, it’s been delayed numerous times, and has even changed developer hands. Given all this, does Last Light’s emergence herald a new classic, or should it have stayed in the dark?"

Phanteks PH-TC12DX CPU Cooler

"PH-TC12DX is a typical tower based heatsink. It is about the same height as Noctua NH-U12P which is one of the first commercially successful tower based coolers. PH-TC12DX has a copper base and the fins are anodized aluminum and colored in black. Very stylish in my opinion!"

Nvidia GTX 770

"Last week we took a look at the Nvidia GTX 780, their first card in the 700 series of cards. Surprisingly I am sitting here a week later already telling you about their next card: the GTX 770. Is the combination of the GTX 780 and GTX 770 a one-two punch or a hit and a miss? Well in order to find out we had to put it through our benchmark suite to see what it was capable of. I enjoyed the GTX 780; I hope they are able to keep it up with the GTX 770."

EVGA GTX 770 ACX

"I was blown away at the overclock I was able to get on it, all while running the stock cooler. The fine folks over at EVGA are introducing a few variations on the GTX 770 as well, one of them being their new Active Cooling Xtreme or ACX for short model. We just happened to get our hands on it and I’m going to put it through its paces. We know what the GTX 770 with a reference cooler, but what is it capable of with a little more cooling."

Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H Motherboard

"There are a lot of mainboards out there with a variety of onboard controllers and an extensive list of functions. Of course, there are simpler and even more affordable mainboards, but perfection like Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H is a very rare occurrence among them."

Asus P8Z77-V LK Motherboard

"This mainboard will suit perfectly for a contemporary system, it doesn’t boast anything extraordinary, but also doesn’t have any functionality limitations of any kind. There are more complex and more expensive, as well as simpler and more affordable products out there, while Asus P8Z77-V LK is a regular mainboard, most optional solution, the so-called “golden medium”."

Zynga Inc Layoffs
"Zynga Inc announced on Monday its biggest ever round of layoffs and warned of weak bookings for the current quarter, raising doubts about the social game developer's attempt at a recovery. Zynga said it will cut about 520 jobs, or roughly one-fifth of its work force, and close some offices in the United States. Analysts said the latest warning on quarterly bookings, a measure of sales, boded poorly for the "FarmVille" developer, which began trimming staff late last year."

Legit Reviews Two For One
MSI GeForce GTX 770 & ASUS GeForce GTX 770

"The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 brings a welcomed performance increase to the now year-old GeForce GTX 680 graphics card. Our testing found the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 2GB OC Edition cards by ASUS and MSI were between 5-15% faster than the original GeForce GTX 680 2GB reference card. This is a nice performance increase thanks to the higher clock speeds and the additional memory bandwidth provided by the 7.0 Gbps memory."

Fractal Design Node 605 HTPC Case

"Fractal Design really did a great job with the Node 605. The face of the case is a beautiful black aluminum design, which also has a way to keep the front I/O ports hidden in style. The whole HTPC concept may be questionable by some, but others (like myself) see the value and luxury behind it. The Node 605 really will look gorgeous beside your other HTPC components, and it certainly fits in with mine..."

Next Gen Console Price Estimates
"When Microsoft's Xbox One goes on sale before the end of year, it should cost $399, $50 more than the Sony's PlayStation 4, likely to debut at the same time, according to estimates by Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter. The analyst made his estimates in a research note prepared in advance of next week's E3 video game conference. He based those estimates on the cost of materials needed to build the consoles, taking into account speculation about the specifications for each box."

The 4TB Seagate Desktop HDD (OEM model ST4000DM000, retail kit STBD4000400) features a SATA 6Gb/s interface with Native Command Queueing (NCQ). Eight data heads read and write to four 1GB disc platters which enable 625Gb/in2 areal density. EVGA GTX 780 Superclocked w/ ACX Cooler 3 GB

"EVGA has engineered a new cooler for their GeForce GTX 780, called ACX - Active Cooling Xtreme. In our testing this dual-fan design delivers great temperatures and noise levels that match the quiet NVIDIA reference design. The GTX 780 SC ACX is also overclocked, which yields performance higher than GTX Titan."

PowerColor HD 7850 SCS3 Passive 1 GB

"PowerColor's HD 7850 SCS3 is a fanless implementation of the HD 7850, which means that it does not emit any noise while offering enough performance for serious gaming in full HD. With a price increase of $25 over the reference design, it's not too expensive either."

"Imagine if you could paint a working light switch directly onto your wall, without any need for sockets, cables or wiring. A group of students from the Royal College of Art (RCA) in London has made that possible by creating electrically conductive paint. The paint acts as a form of liquid wiring. Unlike conventional wires, it can be applied to almost any surface, including paper, plastic, metal and even fabric."

i-Mego Throne Gold Headphones

"Today for review I have the i-Mego Throne headphones, these are over the ear style and in my time with them I found them to be excellent overall in sound and build quality. The sound from the Throne headphones is crisp and full and clear, but they might be a little bit heavy on the bass and slightly light on the treble. It just all depends on the type of music you prefer to listen to. The Throne headphones might be considered expensive by some, coming in at about $130, but for good sound you have to pay a little more and these are definitely worth the price. So read on to learn more about the i-Mego Throne headphones.."

Memorial Day Remembrances
"Americans are today gathering to honor those who have courageously given their lives to defend their country and protect its freedoms after a weekend of remembrance services. Among those who visited cemeteries over the weekend was Nancy Waring of Cumming, Georgia. Mrs Waring knelt down and kissed the gravestone of her husband Army 1st Lt. Gerald Paul Waring, who served during the Vietnam War. He lost his battle with cancer last year. The widow also visited the grave of her son, Coast Guard Lt. Brian Scott Waring at Georgia National Cemetery. The 40-year-old was also an Army veteran and died less than a year before his father."

Corsair CX600M Power Supply

"That doesn't mean all low cost PSUs are bad, far from it and for some time now a number of manufacturers have offered a good base level of quality at minimal cost, such as Corsairs CX series. XFX R7790 Black Edition 1GB

"Today we have the new XFX take on the HD7790 model with the R7790 Black Edition. As some of you may know, “Black Edition” means “overclocked” and a pretty awesome cooler as well, so let’s open this thing up and see what it can do."

Diamond HD7790 Video Card

"The HD 7790 we have today is admittedly a mainstream model which as we know are the real money makers in graphics products due to the nice price/performance ratio. We will also admit that we don’t really get revved up with mainstream cards normally simply because we like fast cards. That being said, 7790 cards has been quite a surprise for as they have been very overclockable, while also delivering very decent gameplay on most titles at HD resolutions."

Cooler Master CM 200 Case
Ninjalane

"Now before you cringe at the sight of a mainstream chassis you should know that this tiny gem sports some really cool features like allowances for watercooling, MicroATX motherboards, seven storage drives and long video cards like the AMD Radeon HD 7990."

Lan OC Reviews

"One of the biggest down falls to having a smaller form factor case and motherboard has always been lack of room for aftermarket cooling solutions, namely water cooling. Cooler master has released the N series brand of cases, a new line that hopes to tackle the water cooling conundrum that many small form factor users are faced with. The N series is touted as a mainstream computer case aimed at the masses, a simple, cheap solution that will house all of the gaming essentials. And as an enthusiast, it might not be your next rig, but it could very well be a candidate for your next LAN rig or for a budding gamer friend."
